Lucet forks, also known as knitting forks, have been used for centuries to make a strong and square shaped cord using a single, continuous strand. It was most often used to lace up clothing or to tie things to a belt upon your person. Today, they are commonly used by historic reenactors and by crafters finding modern artistic uses.

Our lucets are hand tooled and each one has it's own unique, hand worked, character. Some variance in size, shape and color is common. A simple beeswax finish helps protect the wood, while allowing it's natural character to shine through. They are smooth and soft to the touch for comfortable use while working up your cord.

This listing is for one lucet fork, made from rosewood. It is approximately 6 and 3/4 inches in length by 2 and 1/4 inches at it's largest width and is 3/8 inch thick.

The handle on this fork design is a bit wider, to more easily accommodate a larger hand, but fits well in a medium hand as well. For smaller hands, we recommend our 6 inch length that has a narrower handle than our other designs.
